MORINGUE VAZIO NÃO CARREGA SÓ VENTO

The group exhibition “Moringue vazio não carrega só vento” opens on 21st June at 5 pm at Galeria Plato in Évora.
This exhibition celebrates an object that, despite having lost its original function, still carries the memory of the gestures and history of those who shaped it. To honour it, I invited 27 artists to create their own interpretations of the moringue.
At the opening, a new book – produced in collaboration with Maria Manuela Restivo and sharing the exhibition’s title – will be launched. We visited private and museum collections to photograph traditional moringues, which are featured alongside the contemporary works in the publication.
