MORINGUE VAZIO NÃO CARREGA SÓ VENTO

Plato Évora • 2025

This exhibition celebrates an object that, while no longer serving its original function, retains the memory of the gestures and history of its makers. To honour it, I invited 27 artists to reinterpret the moringue through their own creations.

A new book, created in collaboration with Maria Manuela Restivo and sharing the exhibition’s title, was launched at the opening. It features photographs of traditional moringues from private and museum collections, presented alongside the contemporary works.
