Moringue Vazio Não Carrega Só Vento

The exhibition “Moringue vazio não carrega só vento” was be presented in Lisbon from September 18th-20th with some new pieces added.

We also launched the book with the same title. We visited numerous private and museum collections, gathering historical moringues from across Portugal. From Minho to Trás-os-Montes, through Beira Alta, Lisbon, Oeste, and Alentejo, placing these historical objects alongside contemporary works allows us to witness both continuity and transformation.

Bringing the moringue into the present means projecting it into the future – not as relic, but as symbol of alternative ways of being and sharing. Though it may no longer carry water, perhaps it carries this idea.
