Buzina

Low relief sculpture made by Henriette Arcelin during an artistic residency at the Viúva Lamego factory-studio. This piece was included in the Ria Formosa exhibition, curated by Felipa Almeida for Lisbon by Design. The artist Henriette Arcelin started by making a watercolour inspired by the natural beauty of Ria Formosa in the Algarve, and then made various ceramic pieces representing some patterns and elements of the illustration.

​​Founded in 1849, Viúva Lamego is one of the first Portuguese tile factories. Since the 1930s it provides artistic residencies and encourages collaborations between artists and master artisans.
