• Fidalgo

Piece from Olaria Enfeitada (decorated pottery) from Estremoz. Used to keep the water cool, the Fidalgo is modeled on a potter's wheel and decorated by the ceramist, with the placement of modeled elements, such as flowers, arches and ruffs, and colorful paintings.
Olaria Enfeitada is first mentioned in the 18th century, in a meeting of the Municipal Council of Estremoz in 1770, which registered how potters purchased the pots from potters, while they were still not dry, and then decorated them with flowers and banners.
